A men's business shirt from mid 1930s. The front of this shirt is cut as one whole piece and the placket opening is folded and stitched to form the buttoned front along the centre line. This means that a small pleat forms below the buttons and the two sides of the front are not separate (as in more 'modern' shirts). The shirt tails are approximately 75 to 85 cm long. The collar is stitched to a collar stand (i.e. not separate or buttoned on).
