A long straight slim-line evening gown from 1936. This elegant gown uses the contrasting textures of both the matte and the shiny sides of silk crepe-backed satin to highlight the separate panels. The stand-up collar and contrasting panels could also be made from laces and other textured fabrics. The main skirt pieces are cut on the straight grain-line. This versatile 1930s gown, could also be styled to be made as a shorter day dress.
