1936 Gown 108 cm (42.5") bust
Also available as a PDF pattern
The front skirt of this long gown is slim fitting and cut on the bias, whereas the back skirt is cut on the straight grain and flares out elegantly at the hemline. The bodice and sleeve are cut as one piece (like a raglan sleeve). The centre fronts of the bodice meet together with soft gathers at the bust, then attach to the front skirt along a shaped midriff that closely fits the waistline. The soft voluminous sleeves join a simple band at the wrist. The centre back of the gown has a closure, which could be buttons or a zip. This design would also make a lovely shorter-length day dress.
